ISSUE is built on the idea that design is a way of responding to the world around us. Not by making something entirely new, but by paying closer attention to what already exists.
We work with designers who share this instinct. Together, we transform discarded materials into objects for everyday life—objects that don't hide where they came from, but carry their past forward.
Every issue is an invitation to rethink.
Every response is shaped through design.
Jelly Bean Series
Mio Miyasaka
The interplay of positive and negative space to reveal the latent potential in fabric off-cuts, creating a continuous visual dialogue. Bold circles and single colors signal inclusivity and awareness. Despite the serious theme, its glossy pop-art style affirms that transformation is possible.
ARCHIVE01
J. Izumi
Shifting from high-shine statements to meditative structure, Jayce Izumi introduces a collection rooted in disciplined craftsmanship. He weaves strips of discarded soft plastic into a new, tactile language—balancing the precision of the weave with the natural irregularities of salvaged material. This thoughtful process doesn't erase waste; instead, it listens to the material, reorganizing everyday surplus into deliberate, striking patterns. Every piece features a custom triangle label, symbolizing a shared focus on awareness and the beautiful tension of sustainable design.
Tote Series
François Hurtaud
Completing our debut lineup, Francois Hurtard strips design back to its essentials. The Tote series features a clean silhouette and a reinforced base inspired by construction details from the fishing industry, creating a striking contrast between rugged utility and a refined aesthetic. Rather than masking imperfections, Francois highlights the raw textures of recycled plastic—transforming waste into a premium object without obscuring its origin. The series arrives in three essential colorways, each paired with a unique, upcycled paracord handle. Because we work entirely with available waste materials, no two cords are identical.
